212HK°

At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212, it boils. One of Hong Kong's biggest indoor pickleball clubs is built on that one extra degree: four pro courts, a courtside café, the SmashPoint gear shop, and the busiest social calendar in Wong Chuk Hang.

The DinkStart take

Why we rate it.

212HK is what happens when someone builds a pickleball venue like a hospitality business. You come for the big, bright, properly spaced courts and stay because the café, the pro shop, and the nightly socials make it somewhere you'd hang out even off the paddle. For a first session or a hundredth, it's one of the most complete indoor setups on Hong Kong Island.

The experience

Your first visit, start to finish.

We did this exact run for our June verification visit. Here's how a first session at 212 actually goes. No guesswork, no awkward standing around.

  1. Get there

Wong Chuk Hang MTR Exit B, two minutes on foot to S22. Or drive straight in; there's parking on site. Lift to the 15th floor.

  2. Walk in

Check in at the front desk. No paddle? Rent one at the door. Lockers and showers are there if you're coming from the office.

  3. Play

Your court's booked by the hour, or you drop into whichever organized session is running. Air-con cold, music on, four courts going.

  4. Refuel

Order at the café counter and eat overlooking the action, with beers, brunch plates and match replays on the screens above the window seats.

  5. Browse out

The SmashPoint shop is on the way out. Browse paddles and gear, then ask staff about the current model selection.

SmashPoint Pro Shop

Browse locally. Ask what's available.

SmashPoint is the on-site gear shop right beside the café on the 15th floor. It's a proper pickleball store carrying the brands that matter, Selkirk and JOOLA among them. Model selection changes, so check current availability and price with the shop.

Courtside Café & Bar

Eat. Drink. Rally.

The Courtside Café & Bar at 212HK, with beers poured, match TVs on and diners by the window

Half the reason sessions here run long. The 15th-floor café and bar looks over the courts, screens run match replays, and the kitchen does Asian, Western and properly healthy plates, so the post-game beer can just as easily be a post-game brunch. Playing upstairs on the 16th floor? You can order food and drinks from there too.

WeekdayPickle & Lunch

HK$150 an hour with lunch included, Mon–Fri 12–3 PM. The cheapest way onto these courts.

2-for-1Thirsty Thursdays

Buy-one-get-one beers at the bar. Pairs suspiciously well with DUPR Thursdays.

212 hosts everything from eight-person birthdays to hundred-plus corporate takeovers, with coaches to run the games, in-house catering and a full bar, and add-ons up to DJs and live bands. Some of Hong Kong's biggest corporates have already run events here.

The story

Built by a player who couldn't find a court.

Founder Naveed Khawaja, a former representative cricketer, started 212HK because Hong Kong simply didn't have enough places to play. The name is the mission: one extra degree of effort is the difference between hot water and steam. The club runs on four words, and you feel all of them by the end of a Pink Tuesday.
