How it plays

Paddles built around a single idea usually fail at it. This one doesn't. Every strand of feedback we gathered came back to the handle first: two-handed backhand stability, control and power all improved, with room for the second hand instead of crowding it. If you play with two hands, and most tennis converts do, that is a specific, real advantage that almost nothing else at this price in Hong Kong offers.

The rest supports it. Players described a soft-ish feel with reduced vibration, easy to control, holding up through long rallies. The wide face reads as a big sweet spot in practice, and the recurring description was a "hammer effect": noticeable power on backhand drives, without losing precision on dinks and soft shots. That combination, power on the backhand side with touch retained on the soft game, is the paddle's real character.

The published specs

Wowlly publishes a swing weight of 84, twist weight of 7.5 and balance point of 9.53 inches. No independent lab has run its own numbers on this paddle yet, so those are the brand's figures rather than measured ones.

One honest note on weight: at 8.0-8.1 oz this is a normal middleweight, not a light paddle. The low swing weight is what makes it feel quicker than that number suggests.

Who should skip it

If you hit a one-handed backhand, you are paying for a handle you will not use, and a standard-shape paddle will give you more face for the same money. The other caution is durability: Wowlly is young, there is no long-term owner record, and the warranty is six months with registration required inside 14 days.
